As our website address suggests, Dr. Willison and the entire team at Dallas Center for Oral Health & Wellness are dedicated to “your pretty smile.” Some of our patients are fortunate because Mother Nature gave them a naturally pretty smile. However, if you don’t have that kind of smile, then please don’t think that a pretty smile can’t be yours. With porcelain veneers, Dr. Willison can create a smile that is pretty as a picture!

Porcelain Veneers from the Cosmetic Dentist Dallas Trusts

First of all, what are porcelain veneers? They are coverings for the teeth in your smile zone. Made of tooth-colored dental porcelain, veneers are specifically designed to correct or conceal a number of cosmetic flaws. Some of our patients choose to have dental veneers to:

  • Cover stained or discolored teeth that have not responded to teeth whitening
  • Conceal chips or small cracks in their teeth
  • Close wide gaps between two or more teeth
  • Transform a tooth that is misshaped or proportionally smaller than others
  • Seemingly align teeth that are somewhat crooked
  • Build up teeth that are abnormally worn

Receiving Dental Veneers in Dallas

When you come to see Dr. Willison at Dallas Center for Oral Health & Wellness about porcelain veneers, she will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums in order to ensure your overall oral health before beginning this cosmetic procedure. She will also want to hear what you hope to accomplish with porcelain veneers and what kind of smile you want. Of course, creating a smile that complements your mouth, face and even complexion will be her primary goal. However, if there are specific characteristics you want your smile to have, then she will be glad to take those into consideration.

For most of our patients, receiving porcelain veneers requires two appointments. At the first visit, Dr. Willison will administer a local anesthetic and then carefully remove a very thin layer of your tooth enamel. The amount removed is approximately equivalent to the thickness of a veneer; thus you can be sure your porcelain veneers will look natural in your mouth and not protrude. Once all of the teeth in your smile zone are prepared, we’ll take an impression of your smile that both our office and our dental lab will need. We use this impression to create temporary acrylic veneers that you’ll wear until the permanent set arrives in our office. These temporary veneers protect your prepared teeth and give you some time to adjust to what veneers feel like in your mouth.

When your permanent veneers arrive, you’ll return to Dallas Center for Oral Health & Wellness. Dr. Willison will remove the temporaries and make sure each individual veneer is the correct size, shape and color. Then, your custom designed and crafted porcelain veneers will be cemented to your teeth. With a little tender loving care—try to avoid biting down on hard objects with your veneered teeth—your pretty smile will give you years and years of delight.

With dental veneers, Dallas residents like you have more to smile about. Contact the office of Dr. Willison today to schedule an appointment, or if you have any questions or concerns about our available services.
